The Cottage

The Cottage galleryThe cottage is at the end of a row of 17th and 18th century houses on the lane which leads down to Crail harbour.  It is cosy, but we believe that small can be beautiful, especially with the ever changing Scottish weather. When the seas are wild, snuggling up to the wood-burning stove with a hot chocolate or something stronger is sheer bliss.  Nestled on the sofa, you can look through the French doors to the garden and the sea under the cliff beyond.

In the living-room you will find a digital TV with DVD player, a CD player with Bluetooth, and a Bose Sound Dock for an ipod or iphone . Broadband wifi is provided and the cottage has its own small library of CDs, DVDs and books.

The living-room opens onto the dining area and kitchen, with dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven, and microwave.  We take pride in our well-stocked kitchen with everything you need to indulge in some holiday baking, and such extras as a Nespresso machine but also cafetières and milk frother for those who prefer to make their brew the old-fashioned way.  There is a BBQ in the garden.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a super-king bed and four windows, two of which overlook the sea. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds and overlooks the picturesque stepped gables of Castle Terrace. Open the windows at night and you’ll hear the waves on the shore as you drift off…  The bathroom has a P-shaped bath for soaking in a mass of bubbles and a state of the art Grohe Rainshower system.

There is a secluded small garden behind the cottage. At the bottom you will find a terrace perched above the rooftops overlooking the Firth of Forth and on to the Isle of May. Perfect for sea and star gazing….
